Here's how to find your accommodation after you disembark from the ferry
Directions to Gordie's Inn (Red Building)
Gordie's is an ocean-front property located in the heart of the village, making it very easy to find and it's close at approximately 550-meters away. This equates to a 2-3 minute drive or a 10-12 minute walk from the Ferry Terminal.
- Exiting the Ferry: As you leave the ferry terminal (whether walking or driving), you will be on Fir Street, which is the main road that runs along the waterfront through the village.
- Yielding to Traffic, Turn Right: TURN RIGHT onto FIR STREET toward the heart of the Village.
- Short Distance and you've Arrived: Gordie's Inn will be a short distance ahead on your left-hand side (Gordie's Serviced Apartments are on the ocean-facing side of the red building) located at the CORNER of FIR ST and MAPLE RD (4 Maple Rd). Welcome to Gordie's!
- You can park your car for free on the street across from your apartment.

General Tips for Getting Around Alert Bay:
- Walking: Much of Alert Bay is easily explored on foot, especially the areas along Fir Street. As you can see you are close to everything! Need groceries, a restaurant, bank, or liquor store? It is all within a leisurely 10 minute walk away from your front door. Being this central to everything and having the waterfront ocean-view is what makes Gordie's Serviced Apartments so great!
- Signage: Keep an eye out for local signage, which can also help guide you.
- Ask a Local: Alert Bay is a friendly community! If you're unsure, don't hesitate to ask someone for directions – people are usually happy to help. There is also a Visitor Centre in town. And of course we are always happy to answer any questions you might have while you are with us.
