Here's how to find your accommodation after you disembark from the ferry:
Directions to Cliff Haven on the Bay
Cliff Haven on the Bay is a grey cottage tucked behind the Peterson Apartments, offering beautiful ocean views of the Bay.
- Exiting the Ferry: As you leave the ferry terminal (whether walking or driving), you will be on Fir Street, the main waterfront road.
- Turn Right: Turn RIGHT onto Fir Street.
- Continue on Fir Street: Proceed along Fir Street, passing through the main part of the village.
- Turn Left onto Maple Road: Look for Maple Road on your left and make a LEFT turn.
- Stay on Maple Road: Continue on Maple Road. You will need to veer slightly to the right to stay on Maple Road as it goes uphill. Follow Maple Road until you reach Cedar Street.
- Turn Left onto Cedar Street: When you reach the intersection with Cedar Street, make a LEFT turn.
- Parking: Look for the Peterson Apartments, which is a tall, white building on the left side of Cedar Street (126 Cedar Street). You can park in the designated spots on either the upper or lower side of the Peterson Apartments building.
- Find Cliff Haven: Cliff Haven on the Bay is the grey cottage. It is tucked behind the Peterson Apartments and can be reached by following the path at the end of the parking area.
General Tips for Getting Around Alert Bay:
- Walking: Much of Alert Bay is easily explored on foot, especially the areas along Fir Street. Some roads like Maple and Cedar are hilly.
- Signage: Keep an eye out for local signage, which can also help guide you.
- Ask a Local: Alert Bay is a friendly community! If you're unsure, don't hesitate to ask someone for directions – people are usually happy to help.
